    1.     This Waiver and Release Agreement is entered into between the Humane Society of the British Virgin Islands (“Humane Society”) on the one hand, and the volunteer named above and their parent or guardian named above (if any) on the other (together, the “Volunteer”).

    2.     It is a condition of being allowed to participate in Humane Society volunteer activities and all related activities (“Volunteer Activities”) that the Volunteer enters into this Waiver and Release Agreement.

    3.     The Volunteer releases and agrees not to sue or claim against the Humane Society or its officers, directors, employees, sub-contractors, sponsors, agents, volunteers, and affiliates with respect to any present and future claims that may be made by the volunteer (including their successors and assigns) for any property damage or personal injury arising as a result of participation in the Volunteer Activities wherever, whenever, or however the same may occur.

    4.     The Volunteer acknowledges, understands and agrees that the Humane Society is not responsible for any injury or property damage arising out of the Volunteer Activities, even if caused by their ordinary negligence or otherwise.

    5.     The Volunteer understands that participation in the Volunteer Activities involves interaction with animals, and this carried certain inherent risks, and the Volunteer wishes to voluntarily participate in the Volunteer Activities with knowledge of the risks involved and agrees to accept the risks of participation.

    6.     The Volunteer acknowledges that the Humane Society has not arranged and does not carry insurance for the benefit of the Volunteer or with respect to such risks to the Volunteer.

    7.     The Volunteer represents that, to their knowledge, they are in good health and suffer no physical impairment that would or should prevent participation in Volunteer Activities.

    8.     The Volunteer agrees to follow all rules and regulations of the Humane Society whilst participating in Volunteer Activities (in particular, but not limited to our Volunteer Safety & Shelter Rules), and to follow the directions of full-time Humane Society staff during any Volunteer Activities.

    9.     The Volunteer understands that this document is intended to be legally binding under the laws of the British Virgin Islands, and is intended to be as broad and inclusive as permitted by those laws in terms of exculpating the Humane Society from potential liability.
