Hi, I'm Kassandra, a Jesus loving wife, mom of three, and passionate educator. I love bringing history to life through hands-on, project-based learning that encourages curiosity, creativity, and discovery. History is more than a collection of events; it's His Story unfolding through generations, revealing God's faithfulness and purpose. My desire is to help students engage with the past while developing the gifts and talents God has uniquely given them. I'm excited to explore Medieval History together!

This is a project-based history course that emphasizes investigation over memorization. Students will analyze historical events through case studies, build maps and timelines, create diagrams, compare civilizations, participate in debates and historical simulations, and complete four major unit projects throughout the year. Along the way, they will explore medieval culture through the code of chivalry, courtly etiquette, medieval-inspired language, and historical food experiences that provide a deeper understanding of daily life during the Middle Ages while asking why events happened, examining multiple perspectives, identifying cause-and-effect relationships, and making meaningful connections between the medieval world and modern society. Through research, discussion, collaboration, and hands-on projects, students will develop both historical knowledge and the critical thinking skills needed to engage with history on a deeper level.

By the end of the course, students will:

• Develop a chronological understanding of Medieval history from the fall of Rome through the Elizabethan Era.
• Identify significant historical figures, civilizations, and events while explaining their influence on the development of the medieval world.
• Strengthen critical thinking skills by analyzing historical case studies, identifying cause-and-effect relationships, and making connections across cultures and time periods.
• Build confidence in communication through presentations, discussions, collaborative projects, and historical simulations.
• Strengthen geography skills through ongoing map work, timeline development, and visual historical analysis.
• Demonstrate learning through four comprehensive project-based assessments, including maps, diagrams, themed projects, and creative historical displays.
• Explore medieval culture through the study of chivalry, etiquette, historical traditions, and period-inspired activities.
• Students will gain a deeper appreciation for God's unfolding story throughout history

Administrative Fee: $65 (paid to Rooted Resource Center)

Course Fee: $270 (paid to instructor)

Families are responsible to purchase the BiblioPlan Medieval Bundle for Middles, Grades 3-8.

Only one textbook is required per family. If you would like to provide additional work for your student during the week, you may purchase the full course set.

This course is a full-year commitment. Families may choose to pay the tuition in full or divide the cost into two semester payments.

Regardless of the payment option selected, enrollment is for the full academic year. If you choose not to return for the second semester, you remain financially responsible for the full-year tuition, as your student's spot has been reserved for the entire school year.
