  • Terms & Conditions

A rally is not a race. Island Cruising provides information to help you get prepared to go offshore along with all the other rally inclusions, fun and support along the way. Undertaking an offshore passage and navigating in the South Pacific comes with risks. You can expect to encounter challenging weather conditions and poorly charted areas. Maritime Law states that the safety of the vessel and her crew is the sole and inescapable responsibility of the skipper. She/he must do their best to ensure the yacht is seaworthy, fully equipped with the appropriate safety equipment, and manned with experienced crew who are physically fit to face bad weather and who know where the safety gear is kept and how it is used. The skipper must be satisfied as to the ability of their crew, soundness of the hull, spars, rigging, sails and that all the safety gear on board is properly maintained and stowed. It is the exclusive responsibility of the skipper to decide whether to set out on a voyage, participate in any rally activities or to continue in the advent of adverse weather. The skipper is responsible for completing all the required documentation and local formalities. We expect rally participants to obey local laws, follow our rally values/code of conduct to act safely and respectfully of their fellow sailors, the local culture, environment, people & the places we visit. Parts of the information we have collected in the form above may be shared with relevant authorities, certain rally partners, border officials and Rescue Coordination Centres for safety, maritime crime prevention & administration purposes. A non refundable deposit of NZD$600 is due now, with the balance by 1 March 2027. If anything prevents you from going on the rally you can transfer any payments made to another future rally. This rally content covers the 2027 season and you get access to all the rally content until November 2027. Our full terms & conditions can be found on our website. If you have any questions or concerns, I am here to help and will make every effort to accommodate any special requirements, please let me know. Many thanks, Viki Moore - Rally Director
