For our July trip, we will be heading to Beech Mountain, not for skiing, but for downhill mountain biking. From June to October, the ski resort converts its slopes into exciting mountain biking trails - ranging from beginner to intermediate to advanced and even pro level. You can bring your own bike or rent one from the resort.
Outside of mountain biking, Beech Mountain also has a disc golf course that starts at the top with an elevation of 5506' and plays all the way down to the lodge.
You can see all of the options below for lift tickets and rentals. Please note, if you bring your own bike, it is highly recommended that you rent body armor and a helmet (the rental helmets are full face, which is recommended for downhill mountain biking).
For camping, we will be spending Friday night at the Troop 109 Scout Hut at Boone United Methodist Church. Our plan is to drive back after biking on Saturday with a Saturday evening arrival at the Scout Hut.
