    A screening process may be organised before the course starts to determine suitability. 

    Our Apprentice Referee Program is designed to develop confident, knowledgeable and professional referees through a combination of education, mentoring and on-court experience. Successful applicants will participate in Basketball Victoria's referee education program, receive ongoing coaching from experienced referee coaches and development leads, and be supported throughout their accreditation journey.

    The total cost of the Apprentice Referee Program is $120, which includes:

    • Basketball Victoria Apprentice Referee Course
    • Online learning and practical workshops
    • On-court mentoring and coaching
    • Official Basketball Victoria Referee Shirt
    • Westgate Referee Pants
    • Fox 40 Referee Whistle
    • Ongoing referee development and accreditation support

     

    Total $120.00

    All applicants will be invited to attend a group assessment session, where they will participate in practical activities designed to demonstrate communication, teamwork, confidence, problem-solving and a willingness to learn. Approximately 12–15 applicants will be selected to join the next Apprentice Referee intake.
