The Mental Health Fund (MHF) provides crucial financial support to increase access to mental health and healing for Queer and Trans Black, Indigenous and People of Color.
While we honor the diversity of strategies our people use to heal, this fund is reserved specifically for people seeking care from licensed or pre-licensed psychotherapists.
We are excited to announce that we will be accepting applications for the MHF from July 1-15, 2026.
Before you apply:
- You must have a psychotherapist that has agreed to work with you. If you need to find a therapist, check out our directory and additional resources below.
- You need to discuss the MHF with your therapist and make sure they have agreed to participate in this program. Please review the MHF Intro Letter for Therapists with your practitioner in advance of completing this application.
- If you skip this step it could delay or deny your acceptance so make sure your share the Intro Letter for Therapists and let your practitioner know that they can reach out to us with any questions at mhf@nqttcn.com
- You will need your psychotherapist’s:
- Name
- License type, number, and state
- Supervisor information (If your therapist is working under the supervision of a licensed therapist, you will be required to provide name, and license information for supervisor)
- Phone
- Email
- Session Fee
All psychotherapists participating in the mental health fund need to be either licensed in their field as a mental health provider and/or are a registered intern/associate in their respective field. Please note that NQTTCN highly respects and honors many healing traditions and offerings, but the MHF is only available for psychotherapy support at this time.
All Mental Health Fund applicants must:
- Understand that recipients can receive financial support for up to 8 sessions total, which if awarded, need to be used by November 30, 2026. The first session must take place within 30 days of being accepted.
- Discuss the MHF with their therapist and the therapist agrees to participate.
If awarded, the MHF recipient, psychotherapist, and NQTTCN will complete a third party payor agreement form electronically. MHF funds will be distributed to the psychotherapist directly and will only be distributed after all necessary paperwork is completed. Any funds not used within the award period will be released back into MHF funds for other applicants.
You must submit a complete application. QTBIPOC individuals are strongly encouraged to apply - organizations and therapists are not eligible to apply on behalf of their clients. These supplemental resources are only to be used for self-pay only, not for insurance copays.
Application deadline: July 15, 2026
