Every dog has a thing. Maybe it's the funny habit, the stubborn little routine, the look, the sound, the chair they do not own but absolutely own. We're looking for short, true moments that could only belong to your dog: the ones that make you laugh, melt, or shake your head and say, "That's my dog!" Stories about dogs who are no longer with you are welcome here too. Some of the best ones are.

Don't worry about getting the words just right! Share it however it comes. If your story is selected, we may lightly edit it for length and clarity, and it may appear in an upcoming issue of The Dog-Eared Digest.

  2. Milo carries the same sock to bed every night, never the pair, always that one. When it vanished in the wash, he searched the whole house. Then he stood at the dryer until we opened it.
  
  3. Daisy greets the mail carrier with a toy every single day, always a different one. The carrier says it's the only stop on her route where she gets a gift.
