Church Street becomes a skating destination as the New Haven Open Street Festival opens with its most electric weekend yet. A pop-up roller skating rink takes over the street, welcoming skaters of all ages and skill levels to lace up and roll through the heart of downtown. But this day is more than just skating. August 9th marks the official kickoff of Black Wall Street Week in New Haven — a celebration of Black entrepreneurship, culture, and community. The streets will come alive with cultural programming, local vendors, and live performances that honor the spirit of Black Wall Street and spotlight the talent and businesses that make New Haven's community so rich.
