The OGAE Song Contest is an audio-visual event in which all OGAE national clubs can enter with an original song released in the previous 12 months in their countries. The contest has been running since 1986.
In 2025, OGAE Italy hosted the contest, which saw Born With A Broken Heart by Damiano David win the competition back-to-back for Italy. This means OGAE Italy will host this year's edition of the contest as the reigning champions.
But before the 2026 edition can happen, Australia needs an entry. This is where you come in!
After a really competitive selection of 24 eligible songs were submitted in our open call, our commitee had the very difficult task of choosing which of these songs would be shortlisted. This was by-far the most difficult shortlisting for a OGAE Song selection to date. However after a long and intense process full of voting and discussion, we were able to whittle the list down to just 12 songs!
Here are the 12 songs fighting to represent OGAE Australia in the 2026 OGAE Song Contest (in running order):

- iPod Touch - Ninajirachi
- Dracula - Tame Impala
- Light Up - Kylie Minogue
Please note that voting is open to OGAE Australia members only. Votes will be casted using the same voting scheme as Eurovision (i.e. you will give 12 points to one song, 10 points to another, etc). Please ensure that you do not vote for a song twice, or your vote will not be counted.
So what are you waiting for! OGAE Australia...you decide!
But hurry, entries close on Sunday 19th July 2026 at 7pm AEST (6:30pm ACST, 5pm AWST).
