Competition Terms & Conditions

• Entry is open to Australian residents only.
• To enter, participants must:
  • Follow The Sydney String Centre on at least one of our social media platforms.
  • Complete the official competition survey in full.
• Entries close at 11:59 pm (AEST) on 30 July 2026. The winner will be drawn on 31 July 2026 and contacted using the details provided in the survey.
• The prize consists of:
  • One (1) complimentary cello sound optimisation session at The Sydney String Centre.
  • One (1) complimentary set of Larsen cello strings, selected during the optimisation session.
• The optimisation session must be attended in person at The Sydney String Centre.
• Entrants must play a full-size (4/4) cello.
• Entrants under 18 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian during the optimisation session.
• The prize is not transferable, cannot be redeemed for cash, and cannot be exchanged for alternative products or services.
• The complimentary set of Larsen strings will be selected by our optimisation specialist based on the strings that best suit the winner's cello, playing style, and tonal preferences. The prize cannot be exchanged for an alternative Larsen string set.
• The complimentary strings will be fitted during the optimisation session and cannot be claimed separately.
• By accepting the prize, the winner agrees to be photographed and/or filmed during their optimisation session and consents to The Sydney String Centre using this content, along with their first name, for promotional purposes across our website, social media channels, and other marketing materials.
• By entering, participants agree to these Terms & Conditions.
• The Sydney String Centre reserves the right to amend these Terms & Conditions where necessary. Any changes will be published on this page.

 

What happens in a sound optimisation session and can I book one in?

In a sound optimisation session, you'll have the opportunity to try any Larsen string on your cello (incl. the new Sovereign strings), taking the guesswork out of finding the perfect match!

Over the course of the session, we'll work closely with you to understand your instrument, your playing style, and the sound you're trying to achieve. Based on this, we'll select and fit different strings, refining the setup until we discover the combination that best suits both you and your cello.

We're currently running sessions every Wednesday, Thursday and Friday in July at a cost of $100, however, if you decide to purchase a set of Larsen strings during your appointment, we'll deduct the full $100 session fee from the cost of your purchase.
