• 2027 Dr. Nancy McCormick Rambusch Award Nomination Form

  • This award pays tribute to Dr. Nancy McCormick Rambusch (1927 – 1994), founder of the American Montessori Society. The Dr. Nancy McCormick Rambusch Award honors AMS members for their contributions to the development, expansion, and/or recognition of Montessori education in previously unchartered or minimally chartered territories, and opening the doors for others to follow in their footsteps. Nominees may have made an impact in a variety of ways, for example, by: promoting values of diversity, equity and inclusion, contributing to the growth of Montessori education in countries outside the United States,  supporting the development and expansion of Montessori education in under-resourced areas, helping to expand Montessori education in the public school arena, and/or developing Montessori schools or programs in areas or communities where it had minimal or no representation.

  • Montessori Credentials: Does the nominee hold a Montessori credential recognized by AMS?*
  • Teaching Experience: Has the nominee taught children for at least five years at their level of credential in a Montessori setting and/or taught adults for at least five years in an AMS teacher education program?*
  • Leadership: Has the nominee served in a leadership role such as school leader, TEP leader, college faculty, AMS Board involvement, or mentor to AMS members?*
  • AMS Involvement: Has the nominee contributed to AMS through innovations, initiatives, committees, active participation in sponsored events, research and development, presenting at AMS-sponsored events, or been published in Montessori Life?*
  • DEI/ABAR Commitment: Does the nominee demonstrate a foundation of diversity, equity, inclusion, anti-bias, and anti-racism (DEI/ABAR) in their work, exemplifying integrity and responsibility toward diverse populations?*
