    As we celebrate the opening of our new ceramic studio, we are excited to launch an annual ceramics exhibition dedicated to showcasing the creativity, craftsmanship, and innovation of ceramic artists throughout the North Mecklenburg region. This exhibition is open to artists of all levels of experience, from emerging makers and students to established professionals. We invite ceramic artists, educators, arts organizations, and creative community members to participate in this inaugural exhibition and help us build a vibrant tradition that honors the art of clay.
  • EXTENDED Submission Deadline: August 26th, 2026

    Artists will be notified of their acceptance no later than August 27th, 2026

     

    Accepted artwork needs to be dropped off at Cain Center for the Arts

    Exhibition Dates: Tuesday, September 1st, 2026 - Saturday, October 17th, 2026

    Reception: September 10th, 2026 from 6:30pm - 8:30pm

    Artwork pickup: October 19th - October 23rd, 2026

  • Artist Guidelines for House Made Mud 

    Artists may submit up to two (2) ceramic artworks for consideration. Submitted works must be comprised of at least 60% ceramic or clay materials.

    This exhibition aims to highlight the diverse voices, techniques, and perspectives represented within our growing ceramic arts community. Students, instructors, studio members, patrons, and independent artists are all encouraged to apply.

    Whether your work explores functional pottery, sculptural forms, contemporary concepts, or traditional techniques, we welcome your submission.

     

    • Artists ages 18 and up may submit TWO pieces of art. There is no guarantee that we accept either piece.
    • All art MUST COME “GALLERY READY”- meaning wired on the back, able to hang professionally/level given the framing or hardware included on back or able to sit neatly on a pedestal
    • All work must be submitted online by 5:00pm on Friday Agust 21st – NO EXCEPTIONS
    • Artists receive 60% of the proceeds from sales, Cain receives 40% of the proceeds
    • Artists must sign artist contracts at the time of drop off.
      • Artists must sign their own contracts, if you will not be present during the time of the drop off, we can email you the contract in advance
    • Due to the limited gallery space, we will accept submissions on a first-come, first-served basis

  • Join us as we mark the beginning of a new chapter for ceramic arts in North Mecklenburg and celebrate the artists who make our creative community thrive.

    You will recieve an email once the submission window closes approving the work that you have submitted. If your work has not received an email, then it has not been accepted.
