    Thank you for your interest in volunteering for our Pet Portrait Fundraiser!

    Volunteer artists will be paired with a photo of a community member's pet to recreate in the medium of their choice. The deadline to apply is Wednesday, July 22. After applications close, our team will review submissions and notify selected artists.

    IMPORTANT NOTICE: Artists may not use any form of generative artificial intelligence (AI) to create or assist in creating their pet portraits. All submitted artwork must be the artist's own original work, created by hand or through traditional or digital artistic methods without AI-generated content.

    If selected, you'll receive your assigned pet photo and have three weeks to complete your portrait. Finished artwork may be dropped off at the shelter or submitted as a high-resolution digital file to community@ycspca.org.

    Please note: You may not receive a portrait assignment immediately. Portraits will be assigned as pet portrait orders are received.

    Pet owners will make a suggested $40 donation to the York County SPCA in exchange for a custom pet portrait, helping support the animals in our care.

  • Artist Agreement


    Thank you for your interest in volunteering as an artist for our Pet Portrait Fundraiser! If selected to participate, I agree to the following guidelines:

    -Must be at least 12 years of age.
    -There is no fee to participate as a volunteer artist.
    -Once assigned a pet, I will have three weeks to complete the portrait and either: Drop off the physical artwork at the York County SPCA (3159 Susquehanna Trail N, York, PA 17406), or email a high-resolution digital copy to community@ycspca.org.
    -I understand that portrait assignments will be distributed as pet portrait orders are received, so I may not receive an assignment immediately after being selected.
    -Any artistic medium is welcome, including traditional and digital artwork.
    -Prior artistic experience is not required.

    -Artists may not use any form of generative artificial intelligence (AI) to create or assist in creating their pet portraits. 

    -After the artist application deadline of Wednesday, July 22, the York County SPCA will review all submissions and notify applicants if they have been selected. Additional instructions and pet assignments will be sent as portrait orders are received.
