About the Campaign
From July to September 2026, Survival Bloc and Collective Resilience will be activating our joint network of over 100+ organizations and leaders to train, mobilize, and take local action as we anticipate a summer of stronger, heat-related climate disasters. We know that as U.S fascism and authoritarianism expands, that this limits vulnerable communities’ ability to assert their autonomy and sense of self-determination. From Minneapolis to Tennessee, we have been inspired by the block-by-block organizing and survival strategies that frontline, BIPOC neighbors are using to build power through government corruption, state terror and ICE kidnappings, and extreme weather events.
We envision a future where all U.S frontline and BIPOC communities have built the neighborhood infrastructure that they need to keep themselves safe, meet their needs, and thrive in this political moment. This means divesting from harmful systems and false solutions, and reinvesting in the skills, local relationships, and community spaces that make our survival possible.
About Us
Survival Bloc is a national, BIPOC-led network building power and community alternatives to survive the climate crisis. Together, with a growing coalition of over 30+ organizations and 100+ leaders across the U.S, we build the movement infrastructure to train, mobilize, and bridge cross-sector strategies for disaster resiliency.
Collective Resilience is building a movement of sites rooted in ecological stewardship and community care for our most vulnerable populations before, during, and after climate disasters.
Role Description
This is a volunteer role (up to 5 hrs/ per week) from July - September 2026. We welcome leaders of all kind, but are prioritizing applications from those that identify as BIPOC (black, brown, indigenous, and other people of color), who is directly impacted (has experienced previous or more frequent climate or state threats), and interested in building power within your own neighborhood. This role is currently unpaid, unless funding changes in the future. Once you've completed this form, a lead campaign organizer will be in touch with you shortly for campaign onboarding + getting you settled in your working group.
