Street Art Fest returns Saturday, Sept. 19, transforming the Highland Square into a vibrant open-air gallery. Join artists from across the region as they bring the streets to life with incredible chalk creations. Whether you're a seasoned street painter or looking for a new creative challenge, Street Art Fest offers a unique opportunity to showcase your talent, compete for prizes, and be part of one of the region’s most colorful celebrations of art!

Art space dimensions are either 100 sq. ft., 65 sq. ft., or 40 sq. ft. and are dependent upon the sponsor’s level of commitment. Unless requested by a specific sponsor, artists are assigned by the committee. Artists will receive information on layout dimensions, sponsors and other details prior to the event.

Artists will receive a FREE Street Art Fest t-shirt! Please indicate your size below. [Please note: Limit of one free T-shirt per art space. We cannot guarantee a t-shirt to those who submit applications after Aug 7th]

Street Art Contest Awards
The following awards will be presented:

Best of Show: (all categories eligible) - $200

Professional: 1st Place - $150, 2nd Place - $100

Amateur 24+ & Amateur 19-23: 1st Place - $100, 2nd Place - $75

Young Adult 14-18: 1st Place - $75, 2nd Place - $50

3 Awards of Merit: $50 each

People’s Choice Award - Observers will be given the opportunity to purchase tickets to vote on their favorite artwork/artist. The winner will receive a cash prize!

ARTISTS PLEASE NOTE:

Event Info: The Street Art Festival hours are 11:00am-5:00pm. Artists may begin creating prior to 11:00am, but must finish their art by 4:00pm for judging.

Sign-In/Attendance: All Artists must be signed in by 11 a.m. the day of event unless previous arrangements have been made with chamber staff. Failure to do so may result in another artist being assigned to your square. Artists must notify the chamber staff at 618-654-3721 within 48 hours if they cannot attend for ANY reason.

Supplies: Chalk, carpet pads, hand wipes and latex gloves will be provided. Artists MAY bring their own chalk but paint is NOT allowed. You may bring your own tent, but please know that we cannot be responsible for it.

Competition Rules:

You may extend beyond your square limits by no more than 3ft. Please be respectful of your neighbors.
Tools are allowed (e.g. blenders, brushes). While sprayed water may be used to wet the pavement or set the chalk, the chalk must remain in chalk form. You may not mix chalk and water to create a paint/paste.
Artists are allowed one helper - using more than one helper will disqualify you from judging (please note: the helper will not receive a t-shirt or swag bag).

I further release the Street Art Festival Committee, Highland Chamber of Commerce, event sponsors, the City of Highland, and their agents from liability for any loss, damage, theft, or injury to me or my property arising from my participation in the event.
