• Project Lighthouse Grant Application

Online grant application for the Geek Partnership Society’s Project Lighthouse.
  • What We Do...

  • Project Lighthouse (PL) is the Geek Partnership Society’s educational outreach grant program, helping low-income schools, libraries, and communities bring inspiring educational demonstrations to the people they serve—opportunities they might not otherwise be able to access because of financial limitations. Programs may feature trusted partners we have worked with before, such as The Raptor Center and The Science Museum, or another educational experience chosen by the recipient institution.

  • Grant Recipients

  • When selecting grant recipients, Project Lighthouse looks at each school or institution, its goals, and how those goals connect with the Geek Partnership Society’s mission. We welcome candidates that are open to the public, nondenominational, and connected to communities that share our broad range of interests. Because many of our partner programs focus on science, we are especially excited to support schools that encourage students to explore math, science, engineering, and technology. At the same time, we believe meaningful education reaches far beyond STEM. Project Lighthouse encourages all public schools to apply, from science magnet schools to arts charter schools and we hope to help many institutions bring their educational goals to life.

  • Our Promise, and Yours

  • If your school or institution is selected to receive a Project Lighthouse grant, we will contact the program provider to share your interest and our plan for support. The provider will then work with you to schedule the date, time, and location of the visit; we prefer that applicants not have a date already set before receiving the grant. After the program, we ask the school or institution’s primary contact to provide:

    1. A thank-you letter to Project Lighthouse and the Geek Partnership Society on official letterhead mailed to our address for tax purposes that includes
      1. The program that visited,
      2. The date and time of the visit,
      3. The ages, grades, and number of children and adults who participated, and
      4. The signature of the primary contact or the head of the school or institution.
    2.  Email with the same information sent to: projectlighthouse@geekpartnership.org.

By applying for the grant, you agree to these terms. If these requirements are not met, the school or institution may not be eligible for future Project Lighthouse grants. These items are required by the IRS and help us continue serving the public.

Thank you for your interest, and good luck from the Project Lighthouse Coordinators.
