Electrical Experience Verification Process
Please read all instructions carefully before completing the IRS Transcript Calculator.
This process is used to verify your electrical work experience before moving forward with the examination and membership process.
IMPORTANT — Accepted Documents
We only accept:
IRS Wage & Income Transcripts
We DO NOT accept:
W-2 forms
1099 forms
Tax Return Transcripts
Account Transcripts
Record of Account Transcripts
Screenshots
Photos
Screen recordings
Your Wage & Income Transcript must be downloaded directly from the official IRS website and uploaded as the original downloaded file.
We have provided:
An example showing what the correct IRS Wage & Income Transcript looks like
A step-by-step guide showing how to access and download your IRS transcripts
Important — Document Authenticity
All IRS Wage & Income Transcripts and supporting information submitted must be authentic and unaltered.
Do not edit, modify, fabricate, or submit false documents.
Submitting fraudulent or falsified documents may result in immediate disqualification from the verification and membership process and may be reported to the IRS or other appropriate authorities.
Step 1 — Download Your IRS Wage & Income Transcripts
Download an IRS Wage & Income Transcript for every year in which you are claiming electrical work experience.
For example, if you are claiming electrical experience from 2022, 2023, 2024, and 2025, you will need the Wage & Income Transcript for each of those years.
Do not upload screenshots or photos. You must upload the original file downloaded directly from the IRS website.
Trouble Accessing Your IRS Account?
If you are unable to log in to your IRS account or cannot access your transcripts online, you may need to schedule an appointment with the IRS office and request physical copies of your Wage & Income Transcripts.
Amarillo IRS Office — Appointment Only
You must schedule an appointment before going to the IRS office. Walk-ins are not accepted.
Address:
7201 I-40 Frontage Rd
Amarillo, TX 79106
Phone:
(806) 359-2160
Hours:
Monday–Friday
8:30 AM–4:30 PM
Please call the office to schedule your appointment before going.
When requesting your documents, make sure you ask for the official Wage & Income Transcript for every year in which you are claiming electrical experience.
If you receive physical copies from the IRS, make sure all pages are clear and readable before uploading them.
Step 2 — Enter Your Electrical Employers
Only enter employers where you performed electrical work.
You must enter:
Every electrical employer + every year you worked for that employer
If you worked for the same electrical contractor for multiple years, you must enter that employer separately for each applicable year.
Example:
ABC Electric — 2023
ABC Electric — 2024
ABC Electric — 2025
If you leave out an employer or a year, those hours may not be counted toward your verified electrical experience.
Please make sure the information you enter matches the information shown on your IRS Wage & Income Transcripts.
Step 3 — Upload Your IRS Transcripts
Upload the original IRS Wage & Income Transcript file for each applicable year.
Before uploading, make sure:
✓ The document says Wage & Income Transcript
✓ It is for the correct year
✓ It corresponds with the electrical experience you entered
If you obtained physical transcripts from the IRS office because you could not access your account online, make sure they are official IRS Wage & Income Transcripts and that all pages are clear and readable.
W-2s, 1099s, screenshots, photos of unofficial documents, and other types of IRS transcripts will not be accepted.
Submitting incorrect or incomplete documents may delay the verification of your experience.
Step 4 — Review and Submit the Calculator
Before submitting your IRS Transcript Calculator, make sure:
✓ You entered electrical experience only
✓ Every electrical employer is listed
✓ Every applicable year is listed
✓ You uploaded a Wage & Income Transcript for every applicable year
✓ Your full name and contact information are correct
Once everything is complete, submit the calculator.
Step 5 — You MUST Confirm Your Submission
Submitting the calculator is not the final step.
After submitting, you must respond to the Membership Development Coordinator who sent you this information and confirm that you have completed the calculator.
Your confirmation must include your full name.
Please send your confirmation in the following format:
CALCULATOR COMPLETED — [YOUR FULL NAME]
Example:
CALCULATOR COMPLETED — John Smith
Please use the same full name you entered on the IRS Transcript Calculator so we can locate your submission.
We cannot begin reviewing your experience until we receive your confirmation with your full name.
Step 6 — Submission Review
Once we receive your confirmation, a Membership Development Coordinator will review your submission and verify your electrical experience.
Please understand that the review process may take some time due to the number of submissions we are currently receiving.
Each submission must be reviewed individually to make sure the correct transcripts were provided and that the electrical employers, years, and experience information are accurate.
Submitting multiple messages or contacting multiple coordinators will not speed up the review process.
We appreciate your patience while we work through submissions in the order they are received.
If additional information or corrections are needed, a Membership Development Coordinator will contact you.
Step 7 — Electrical Exam
Once your experience has been reviewed and everything is correct, we will contact you regarding the next step and schedule your electrical exam.
Completing the calculator does not automatically schedule you for an exam. Your submission must first be reviewed and approved.
Current Membership Status
At this time, IBEW Local 602 is not accepting new members.
Completing the IRS Transcript Calculator, having your experience verified, or completing the electrical exam does not mean you are immediately becoming a member of IBEW Local 602.
Once you have completed the required process, you will be added to our waitlist.
We will contact applicants when new projects begin and we are able to start bringing in new members.
We do not currently have an exact date for when this will begin.
Please be patient and make sure your contact information stays current so we are able to reach you when opportunities become available.
