Program Guidelines (Town)
Pile Guidelines
- Pile must be stacked by 8 am on Monday of the pick up week (in town)
- Piles must be neatly stacked with cut ends facing out and placed near the roadside, driveway, or in another easily accessible location where the bucket truck and chipper trailer can safely pull alongside the piles.
- Piles should not be placed behind fences, gates, parked vehicles or other obstacles that prevent the bucket truck and chipper from accessing the piles.
- Maximum numbers of piles: 1 per property
- Maximum pile size: 5 feet high x 5 feet deep x 7 feet long
- Piles must be within 5 feet of the public roadway, but not touching the road or impeding traffic
Material Guidelines
- No logs or branches with a diameter greater than 6 inches
- No construction, building or other man-made material
- No lumber, fence posts or signs
- No roots, root wads, stumps or anything else that grows below the soil
- No materials that contain any metal (nails, screws, wire, fencing), string or other man-made materials
- No herbaceous/non-woody plant material
- No trash, grass clippings, weeds, bag of leaves or pine needles, etc.
- No thorny materials (rose bushes, etc.)
- Do NOT tie or band piles
The chipping company reserves the right to refuse service to any participant that does not follow the accepted materials or pile guidelines.
