Miniatures!:
For centuries, artists have embraced the power of the miniature. From the illuminated manuscripts of the Middle Ages and exquisitely detailed portrait miniatures of the Renaissance to Japanese netsuke, devotional icons, and intimate cabinet paintings, small-scale works have invited viewers to slow down, look closely, and discover extraordinary beauty within a modest frame. Though compact in size, these works have long served as treasured keepsakes, personal expressions, and demonstrations of remarkable technical skill.
Artists are invited to submit original artwork measuring 6 × 6 inches or smaller (All artwork must not EXCEED 6x6 inches (36 square inches) including the frame. This means it can be 5x7 or 4x6 or any area 36 square inches or less.)
We welcome work in all media—including painting, drawing, printmaking, photography, fiber, ceramics, sculpture, mixed media, and other contemporary practices—that embraces the unique possibilities of working on an intimate scale. Whether highly detailed or boldly minimalist, representational or abstract, each piece should demonstrate how a small format can create a powerful visual experience. This exhibition honors the enduring tradition of miniature art while showcasing the creativity, craftsmanship, and innovation of today's artists, proving that great art is not measured by size, but by its ability to captivate, inspire, and endure.
