  • Tuition at Sound Ballet Conservatory is calculated as an all-inclusive annual sum for the complete academic year.

  • 1.1 Mandatory Registration Fee & Commitment Deposit

  • To secure and guarantee your student's placement in their designated Conservatory level, a non-refundable registration deposit equivalent to two (2) months of the annual tuition balance is required immediately upon acceptance. *This deposit serves as a formal declaration of your commitment to our rigorous year-long program.

    • This fee is strictly non-refundable and non-transferable, as it reserves a highly limited class roster spot that cannot be reallocated to waitlisted applicants.
    • This initial deposit will be due no later August 30th.
    • This initial deposit will be credited toward your total annual balance, leaving the remaining balance to be fulfilled via one of the payment plans selected below.

    Advanced/Pre-Professional Tuition: $10,500 annually

    • Pay the remaining annual tuition balance entirely by September 1st, 2026, and receive a 3% discount off the total annual tuition amount.
    • Note: This discount is non-reversible and non-refundable if the student later withdraws.
  • Foundations Tuition: $1,300 Initial Deposit (3 installments of 1,733.33)
    Intermediate Tuition: $1,700 Initial Deposit (3 installments of 2,266.66)
    Advanced/Pre-Professional Tuition: $2,100 Initial Deposit (3 installments of 2,800)
    • Following your initial two-month deposit due August 30th, the remaining tuition balance is split into 3 equal installments.
    • Payment Schedule: November 1st, February 1st and April 1st.
  • Foundations Tuition: $1,300 Initial Deposit (9 installments of 577.77)
    Intermediate Tuition: $1,700 Initial Deposit (9 installments of 755.55)
    Advanced/Pre-Professional Tuition: $2,100 Initial Deposit (9 installments of 933.33)
    • Following your initial two-month deposit due on August 30th, the remaining tuition balance is divided into 9 remaining equal monthly installments.
    • Payment Schedule: Deposit on August 30th, reamining 9 payments starting October 1st-June 1st.
  • 1.3 Late Fees, Delinquencies, and Suspensions

    • Grace Period: Scheduled payments are due on the 1st calendar day of the designated
      payment month. A grace period is extended until the 5th day of the month.
    • Late Fees: On the 6th day of the month, a non-negotiable $10 Late Fee will
      automatically be applied to the account balance.
    • Suspension Policy: If an account falls 30 days past due, the student will be
      immediately suspended from participating in all classes, rehearsals, guest workshops,
      and upcoming performances until the outstanding financial balance is paid in full.
  • 1.4 Absences, Make-Up Classes, and Studio Closures

    • No financial credits or refunds are granted for student absences due to illness, vacation,
      or school conflicts.
    • Students are permitted a maximum of two (2) make-up classes per semester.
      Make-up classes must be scheduled in advance with the front desk, must be in a class of an equivalent or lower technical level, and must be redeemed within 30 days of the missed class.
    • In the event of inclement weather, Sound Ballet Conservatory generally aligns with the Seattle Public Schools weather decisions. Cancelled classes due to acts of God, extreme weather, or community emergencies will be moved to an online/virtual format or rescheduled; no refunds will be issued.

  • SECTION 2: CONSERVATORY RULES, DRESS CODE,AND CODE OF CONDUCT

  • 2.1 Uniform and Dress Code

  • Adherence to the classical ballet dress code is a requirement for discipline and precise
    anatomical instruction.
    • Ladies/Girls: Conservatory students will be allowed to wear a leotard of choice for technique classes, pink or skin-toned transitional tights (matching the shoes), and clean ballet shoes/pointe shoes. Students will be allowed to wear skirts above the knee during pointe, variations, repertory, and choreography classes. Hair must be securely fastened in a classical ballet bun. Minimal jewelry. No watches, or fitness trackers are allowed in
      the studio.
    • Gentlemen/Boys: Form-fitting shirt or leotard, black dance tights or leggings, dance belt (as appropriate), and white or black ballet shoes.
  • 2.2 Attendance, Punctuality, and Etiquette

    • Students must arrive at least 10-15 minutes prior to class time to warm up and
      mentally prepare.
    • For safety and injury prevention, any student arriving more than 15 minutes late may be
      asked to sit and observe class rather than participate, as they will have missed the
      essential barre warm-up.
    • Bullying, disruptive behavior, disrespect toward faculty, staff, or peer dancers, or
      destruction of studio property is strictly prohibited. The student will be suspended from
      classes until the issue is resolved in a proper manner.
  • SECTION 3: COMPREHENSIVE LIABILITY WAIVER & MEDICAL RELEASE

  • 3.1 Assumption of Inherent Risk

  • I, the undersigned, understand that classical ballet, pointe work, conditioning, and training are rigorous physical activities that involve inherent risks of injury. These risks include, but are not limited to, muscle strains, sprains, fractures, joint dislocations, concussions, ligament tears, and chronic repetitive motion injuries. I knowingly and voluntarily assume all risks, both known and unknown, associated with the student's participation in classes, rehearsals, guest workshops, and performances.

  • 3.2 Full Release of Liability

  • In consideration of the student being permitted to train at the Sound Ballet Conservatory, I hereby release, waive, forever discharge, and covenant not to sue the Seattle Ballet Conservatory LLC, its owners, artistic directors, faculty, employees, independent contractors, volunteers, and landlords from any and all liability, claims, demands, losses, medical expenses,or damages caused or alleged to be caused in whole or in part by the negligence of the Conservatory or otherwise.

  • 3.3 Emergency Medical Authorization

  • In the event that the student suffers an illness or injury while on the premises or under the supervision of Conservatory staff, and the primary emergency contacts cannot be reached immediately, I hereby grant authority to the staff of the Sound Ballet Conservatory to secure proper medical treatment. This includes authorization for emergency medical transit, X-rays, anesthesia, blood transfusions, or emergency surgery. I assume full financial responsibility for all medical costs incurred.

  • SECTION 4: PROFESSIONAL PHOTO, VIDEO, AND MEDIA RELEASE

  • The Sound Ballet Conservatory documentation often includes photographing and filming classes, rehearsals, and variations for pedagogical correction, archival documentation, and marketing purposes.

  • I hereby grant the Sound Ballet Conservatory the unrestricted, royalty-free, and perpetual right to photograph, video record, and audio record the student. I authorize the Conservatory to use, edit, copy, publish, and distribute these digital assets across media platforms, including but not limited to the studio website, verified social media accounts (Instagram, Facebook, YouTube), marketing brochures, print advertisements, and performance playbills.

  • I understand that no compensation, royalties, or further notification will be provided for the use of these materials. The Conservatory pledges to handle all media with the highest level of dignity, artistic taste, and professionalism.

  • SECTION 5: SPECIAL PROGRAMS AND PRE-PROFESSIONAL OPT-INS

  • As part of our commitment to shaping well-rounded dance artists and providing comprehensive elite training, the Sound Ballet Conservatory incorporates unique curricular pillars. Please review and acknowledge these program components:

    • Individualized Development Plans: Every full-time conservatory student will receive a customized technical growth map. I agree to support the faculty's strategic recommendations for my student's training trajectory.
    • Student Teaching Program (Ages 16+): Eligible senior dancers may be offered assistant teaching opportunities under direct faculty mentorship.
    • Industry Workshops & Seminars: Attendance is expected for all designated pre-professional tracks at our career readiness and industry educational events throughout the year.
    • Choreography & Creative Process: Dancers will participate in live workshops exploring choreography, which involves working with peers and having original pieces set on them by Artistic Director Emily and guest choreographers.
