Academic Standards

The National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) is the governing body for all two-year college athletics at Vincennes University. The NJCAA regularly sets stands regarding academic enrollment requirements and progress towards a degree. Those requirements can be found on pages 9-30 of this document.
Withdrawal From Courses

Student-athletes will not be allowed to withdraw from any course of study without first gaining approval via signature of their respective head coach as well as the Director of Athletics.

If a student-athlete drops below the minimum of twelve (12) semester credit hours per term during a term of participation without proper approvals, said student-athlete will be immediately ineligible for competition.
Release of Information

In compliance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), the policy of Vincennes University is to refuse to grant third-party access to student records without the written consent of the individual student. Any consent given must include the specific records to be released or reviewed and the names of the individuals to whom the information may be released. If you wish to grant permission for your records to be reviewed, please complete the form below.

Examples of student records, protected by FERPA, that can be released include:
- All student records
- Academic records (i.e. transcripts, grade appeals, academic status, advising, admissions office files, etc.)
- Financial aid records (i.e. financial aid applications, awards and files, balances, fines, business office files, etc.)
- Disciplinary records (i.e. any disciplinary event or hearing, or other disciplinary action or response)
- Other (situation-specific)
I hereby grant consent to Vincennes University to release my transcript and any other information requested by the NJCAA to determine student-athlete eligibility.
To whom may student-athlete files be released (i.e. VU coach, four-year college/university coaches, family members, etc.)?

I certify, under penalty of perjury of the laws of the State of Indiana, that I have read the contents and warning of this acknowledgement; that I fully understand this acknowledgment; that I am in agreement with the terms of this acknowledgment; that I am signing this acknowledgement voluntarily, under no compulsion; that I have had an opportunity to ask questions and seek advice regarding this acknowledgement; that I am age 18 or over or, if not, that my parents/guardians hereby make these promises on my behalf; and that I choose to participate (or to permit my child or ward to participate) in the Vincennes University activity listed below of my own accord.
