  • 2026 Standing in Excellence STEM Scholarship

    $1000 Scholarship Application Packet

      

    SCHOLARSHIP GUIDELINES

     

    This scholarship may be used at any four-year College or University (Trade, Technical, and Cosmetology Schools are ineligible)  

    **Scholarship funds will be disbursed directly to the award winner upon post-secondary enrollment verification**

    APPLICANT ELIGIBILTY:  

    • A high school senior graduating from school in Tarrant County, Grand Prairie, TX, or the surrounding DFW Metroplex,
    • Must plan to pursue a major in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math)
    • Minimum of 3.0 cumulative GPA on a 4.0 scale

     
    SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS:

    • Completed online scholarship application
    • Original Essay
    • Two letters of recommendation
    • An Official High School transcript emailed to academic@arlingtoneducation.org
    • Attend the YES Summit on Saturday, October 24, 2026.

    Before you begin the application, have the following items available to upload:

    • Two letters of recommendation from anyone (not related to you) who can speak to your college readiness, leadership ability within a club, organization, UIL group, or involvement with a community service project.

    • Original Essay 
      • Topic: "How will you use a STEM education to make a difference in your community?"

      • 500-word minimum (maximum 1000 words)
      • The essay must be written in your voice. The use of AI or ChatGPT is strictly forbidden. Essays utilizing this format/software will be disqualified.

     

    SUBMISSION DEADLINE:
    Completed application and all supporting materials are due by 11:59 pm on Friday, October 9, 2026.
