Joseph T. Helling Scholarship Application 2026
The Joseph T. Helling Memorial Scholarship Fund was established at the Indiana Bar Foundation by Nancy J. Gargula, Cynthia L. Chandler, and Douglas J. Helling in honor of their father, Joseph T. Helling, who practiced law in South Bend, Indiana for more than 40 years. This award was created to provide scholarships to young attorneys in Indiana attending the Indiana State Bar Association's annual meeting.

This award is designed to cover the expenses of sending a lawyer and his or her family to the 2026 ISBA Annual Meeting, including registration fees, lodging, meals, and travel expenses.

To be eligible for this award, applicants must be actively practicing law in Indiana, admitted to the practice of law less than five (5) years, and a member of the Indiana State Bar Association.

Applications will be accepted through August 7, 2026. Scholarship recipients will be notified by the Indiana Bar Foundation the week of August 21, 2026. Multiple scholarship recipients may be selected.
