We would like to get to know our nominees, so please complete the questionnaire and submit it by August 14th at 5pm.

    ABOUT ABRA

The Auburn Bay Residents Association (ABRA) is a not-for-profit organization established under the Part 9 of the Companies Act by the developer, Brookfield Residential, in 2005, to professionally manage and operate several of Auburn Bay's community features.

Operated by the ABRA, the Auburn House is a year-round recreational facility consisting of 14,000sqft facility, 13acre park, and a 43 acre lake. The facility features a banquet room, gymnasium, office space, storage, skate change room, warming kitchen, and maintenance shop. The park features a 43 acre lake, waterfall & creek, tennis courts, beach volleyball, basketball, picnic shelters, boat rentals, skating rinks, fishing dock, and a amphitheater. In the community, ABRA owns and maintains several entry corners and lake access ways.

Residents in good standing can gain access to ABRA amenities using their issued membership cards.

In addition to maintaining community, the ABRA also employs a fulltime recreation team at Auburn House, who is responsible for implementing recreational programs and events, ensuring the safety of
it's residents and staff, overseeing the annual operating budget, and deliver exceptional customer experience.

    ROLE OF ABRA BOARD

The ABRA is governed by a Board of Directors consisting of a minimum of three (3) directors to a maximum of ten (10) resident directors. These directors are elected annually at the ABRA Annual General Meeting.

The role of the ABRA Board of Directors is to provide strategic leadership by setting direction, making policy and strategy decisions, overseeing and monitoring organizational performance, and ensuring overall accountability.

The ABRA Board of Directors does not become involved in the day-today operations of the organization, however they work hand-in-hand with the General Manager to ensure that the organization is operating in the direction agreed upon by the Board for the best interest of the community.

The Board meets a minimum of eight (8) times a year, but sometimes an ad hoc meeting may be called if needed. The Board meets on Thursdays at Auburn House at 6pm. There are typically no meetings held in July & August.

All eligible nominees must be homeowners in Auburn Bay, be in good standing with the association, have a clean criminal background check, have the best interest of the community as a whole, and be of sound mind to hold a position on the ABRA Board.

All Resident Directors, once elected, are required to complete:
