To celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Main Street program in West Union, talented artists from our local area—and as far away as Collins and Indianola, Iowa!—have decorated 20 wooden birdhouses to showcase their personal style. These creations are on display in the downtown flower gardens throughout the month of July, where the public can vote for their favorites. The winning designs will be announced on August 4, 2026. Following the voting, all birdhouses will be auctioned off to the public on August 6, 2026, during the Playin' on the Plaza concert series. All proceeds from the auction will go toward purchasing new holiday decorations for the downtown area.
