Sporting Lyme Volleyball Tournament – Team Terms and Conditions
By registering for the Sporting Lyme Volleyball Tournament, all team members agree to the following terms and conditions:
1. Eligibility
The tournament is open to teams that have successfully registered before the closing date.
Participants under the age of 18 must have permission from a parent or legal guardian. A parent or guardian may be required to complete a consent form.
2. Attendance
Teams must arrive and register by the time specified by the organisers.
All teams acknowledge and agree that they are required to be available and present from 3:00 pm until the conclusion of the tournament, including any knockout rounds, finals or presentations.
Teams that leave before the tournament has concluded may forfeit any remaining matches and may be withdrawn from the competition.
3. Tournament Format
The Sporting Lyme Volleyball Tournament will be played in a league format, with teams competing against multiple opponents.
Depending on the number of entries, the tournament may also include semi-finals and finals.
The organisers reserve the right to amend the format, fixtures or timings if necessary due to weather, the number of teams, or other unforeseen circumstances.
4. Team Responsibilities
Teams are responsible for ensuring they have the required number of players available throughout the tournament.
Players may only represent one team during the competition.
Teams must play in a sporting and respectful manner towards opponents, officials, volunteers and spectators.
The referee’s decisions are final.
5. Health and Safety
Participants take part at their own risk and should ensure they are medically fit to play.
Appropriate sports clothing and suitable footwear must be worn.
Players must immediately report any injury or unsafe playing conditions to an event organiser.
Any player whose behaviour is considered dangerous or unsporting may be removed from the tournament.
6. Cancellation and Weather
The tournament will proceed in most weather conditions unless organisers determine it is unsafe.
Lyme Regis Town Council reserves the right to postpone, cancel or abandon the tournament due to adverse weather or other circumstances beyond its control.
Where possible, participants will be informed of any changes in advance.
7. Liability
Participation is entirely at each participant’s own risk.
By taking part, participants acknowledge that volleyball is a physical activity with inherent risks of injury.
Lyme Regis Town Council, its councillors, employees, volunteers, event organisers and representatives shall not be held liable for any injury, illness, accident, loss or damage to persons or personal property arising from participation in the tournament, except where liability cannot legally be excluded.
8. Photography and Media
Photographs and video footage may be taken during the tournament for promotional, marketing and publicity purposes by Lyme Regis Town Council and its partners.
By participating, players consent to the use of these images unless they have informed the organisers in writing before the event.
9. Conduct
The organisers reserve the right to refuse entry to or remove any participant or team whose behaviour is abusive, threatening, discriminatory, intoxicated, or otherwise detrimental to the safe and enjoyable running of the event.
Teams are expected to respect the venue and dispose of any litter responsibly.
10. Acceptance
By registering for the Sporting Lyme Volleyball Tournament, team members confirm that they have read, understood and agree to abide by these Terms and Conditions and any instructions issued by tournament organisers before or during the event.
