  • RISEN HONOR CODE

Serving as a leader at Risen Church is both a privilege and a sacred responsibility. Leadership extends beyond fulfilling ministry responsibilities—it is a commitment to living a life that honors Christ and reflects His character before the church, our community, and the world.

As members of the Leadership Team and Dream Team, we recognize that people often observe our lives before they hear our words. Therefore, we are committed to pursuing spiritual maturity, biblical integrity, and personal holiness in both our public and private lives.

While serving at Risen Church, every leader is expected to conduct themselves in a manner worthy of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. In our speech, attitudes, relationships, appearance, and actions, we strive to reflect biblical standards and demonstrate the character of Christ in every setting.

As servant-leaders, we commit ourselves to maintaining a lifestyle that includes consistent:

    ·       Bible reading and study

    ·       Prayer

    ·       Fasting

    ·       Worship

    ·       Personal integrity

    ·       Spiritual growth

    ·       Accountability

Because our lives influence others, leaders are expected to refrain from behaviors that dishonor Christ, damage our witness, or cause others to stumble. This includes, but is not limited to:

    ·       Profanity or vulgar speech

    ·       Smoking, vaping, or the use of tobacco products

    ·       Gambling

    ·       Drunkenness or the misuse of alcohol or other intoxicating substances

    ·       The use of illegal drugs or the misuse of prescription medications

    ·       Pornography or sexually explicit material

    ·       Sexual immorality or any behavior inconsistent with biblical sexual ethics

    ·       Any form of abuse, exploitation, harassment, or inappropriate conduct toward others

    ·       Maintaining inappropriate personal relationships or private communications with minors outside of approved ministry guidelines, including excessive texting, social media messaging, phone calls, or other forms of unsupervised communication

    ·       Dishonesty, fraud, or pursuing dishonest gain

    ·       Any conduct that brings reproach upon the name of Christ, the ministry of Risen Church, or the Church as a whole

Every leader is called to set an example in speech, conduct, love, faith, and purity (1 Timothy 4:12). Our desire is not merely to comply with a code of conduct, but to cultivate lives that inspire others to follow Christ and grow as servant-leaders themselves.

We embrace this Honor Code not as a list of restrictions, but as a reflection of our love for God, our commitment to His Church, and our desire to faithfully steward the influence He has entrusted to us.
