About LOCnificent
LOCnificent is a Brooklyn-based cultural platform celebrating locs, natural hair, and the global Black diaspora. What began in 2018 as a loc appreciation day party has evolved into a year-round cultural experience rooted in community, identity, and the African diaspora. Our annual flagship event brings together stylists, educators, vendors, and community members for a locs and natural hair showcase, live music, a curated Black-owned marketplace, and cultural activations. Now in its eighth year, LOCnificent centers the power, resilience, and artistry of the diaspora — expanding through smaller events and activations year-round.
About Locsanity
Locsanity is a dedicated company committed to providing high-quality, natural, and effective hair care products specifically formulated for the unique needs of locs and natural hair. Founded with a deep passion for healthy hair and an intrinsic understanding of the natural hair community, Locsanity strives to empower individuals on their natural hair journey by offering nourishing products and fostering a supportive community.
Our Partnership
True community impact isn't just about individual success — it's about pulling others up as we climb. Locsanity was a proud lead sponsor of LOCnificent in 2023, and in 2025 launched the Locsanity Community Impact Awards alongside LOCnificent to honor the entrepreneurs, creators, and advocates who form the backbone of our community. Now in its 2nd year, the awards expand our reach to amplify those driving economic and social progress across every industry — with a dedicated focus on supporting and empowering Black and Brown communities and the ecosystems that sustain them.
