• Little House Art Gallery: "What Lights You Up?" Community Art Show

  • What Lights You Up? is a community art exhibition celebrating the focused/special interests, topics, collections, and passions that capture our attention and bring us joy. Whether you can talk about birds for hours, know everything about mushrooms, love fantasy worlds, collect rocks, bake elaborate cakes, or find endless delight in insects, maps, music, or color, we invite you to create artwork inspired by what lights you up. This exhibition honors the excitement, curiosity, and deep connection that can grow from following what fascinates us and celebrates the unique interests that make our community such an inspiring place to be.

    All ages welcome!

This artist call closes November 13th.

Our guest juror will be Moll Hully, Accessibility Coordinator for the North Carolina Museum of Art.

Artists will be notified by November 20th if their work is accepted. I am excited to welcome artwork from our community!

Because of the size of the gallery, space is limited and I may not be able to include every submitted work. Each submission is deeply appreciated, and I value the care behind every piece!

For this show, artwork should be two-dimensional and no larger than 9”×12”.

This show is open to all ages! However, because this exhibition will be held in a shared therapeutic space that welcomes children, families, and community members from a wide range of backgrounds and life experiences, I ask that artwork not include violent imagery, nudity, curse words, or hate speech. Thank you for helping create an environment that feels welcoming, accessible, and supportive for all who enter.

If you have questions about whether a piece is a good fit for the exhibition, please don't hesitate to reach out. I’m happy to help!

Since this is a therapy space, the gallery will be open to the public during the exhibition opening. Other gallery viewing times can be made by appointment.
