Colorado Baptist Disaster Relief is preparing to respond to the Aspen Acres Fire in southern Colorado and is seeking volunteer teams to serve affected communities as soon as deployment is approved.
The Aspen Acres Fire has burned more than 175,000 acres and remains uncontained. Multiple communities have been evacuated, and over 150 structures have already been destroyed.
CBDR/SBDR has been requested to assist in the following communities:
• Beulah, Colorado
• Rye, Colorado
• Colorado City, Colorado
Volunteer teams will assist with disaster recovery efforts, including debris removal, property cleanup, and other recovery needs as they are identified once the fire is contained and residents are allowed to return.
Deployment is currently on stand-by and could begin within the next one to two weeks, depending on fire conditions and containment efforts.
In preparation for this response, we are seeking:
• Volunteer teams ready to deploy when called upon.
• Feeding team members
• Clean Up team members
This is an opportunity to bring help, hope, and the love of Christ to families and communities facing tremendous loss. Your service can make a lasting difference as residents begin the difficult process of recovery and rebuilding.
Please continue praying for the firefighters, first responders, evacuated families, churches, and community leaders affected by this disaster.
If you are unable to participate in this deployment but would still like to support the team and the mission, you can make a contribution at csbdr.org/give
