Key Information:

- Monday, November 2, 6pm: All Program Virtual Orientation

- Program will start Week of November 2nd, and run through Mid-March with a culminating student competition in April

- Meetings will take place at your host company's office building location and will run through mid-March.

- Please note that this is an in-person experience. As part of the commitment, you are expected to attend a 2 hour meeting in-person each week.

- Students are responsible for their own transportation to their host site location.

Host Site Selection
IN ORDER TO PARTCIPATE IN JA COMPANY PROGRAM, YOU ARE REQUIRED TO ATTEND THE WEEKLY MEETING IN-PERSON AT YOUR HOST SITE LOCATION EACH WEEK.

- As a reminder, students are responsible for transporting themselves to their host site each week for the meeting.

- Signing up for a spot at site is not a guarentee you will be offered a spot in JA Company Program or that you will be placed at that site. To achieve the best possible experience for everyone involved, JA may adjust placements. In the event we will be unable to place you at the site you selected, we will communicate with you the situation and the potential options.

Please select the host site you would like to attend below. We expect to receive a high number of applications for certain sites, so we recommend applying as soon as possible.

In the event that a host site has more students apply than spots are avaliable, JA will assign students based on ensuring a mix of students from various communities and schools, when the application was received, and the quality and thoughfulness of Personal Inventory. Please note that having previously participated in JA Company Program is not a guarantee that you will be placed.

Should you/your student be accepted into JA Company Program After-School, you will receive an invitation to finalize your/ your student's place in JA Company Program by signing some permission/consent forms via an eSignature provider. The terms below are not comprehensive or binding. We ask for your signature to acknowledge you understand the program commitment required.

1)    Attendance is mandatory

The 2026-2027 JA Company Program After-School is an in-person experience. There may be some optional connected activies that are virtual, and the weekly meeting may move to virtual in the case of inclimate weather, etc. Students are responsible for their own transportation to and from the host site.

Volunteer mentors will be donating their time and energy to mentor students and students will need to rely upon one another to achieve company goals. Please do not apply JA Company Program if you cannot commit to attending scheduled company meetings each week. Due to the accelerated and collaborative nature of the JA Company Program, it is very difficult to catch up on a missed meetings. Many JA Company Program students are involved in other activities, and we understand their might occasionaly be conflicts with JA Company Program meetings for actvities such as athletic contests, student conferences, regional/state competitions, concerts, etc. However, if a student is regularly absent, especially without notice, the program mentors may ask the student to leave the program out of fairness to other program participants.

Should a student be unable to attend a meeting, it is their responsibility to let their volunteer mentors know with as much notice as is appropriate. Each host site will share their attendance policy during the first meeting. Volunteer mentors are instructed to contact the student's emergency contact in the case of a student no-showing without notice.

The All Program Orientation will be on Monday, November 2, 2026 at 6pm, and meetings will occur on your designated meeting night/time starting the week of November 2 and running though Mid-March.

2)   JA Company Program is more than just meetings

JA Company Program is similar to a sports team, theater production, or band/orchestra in that to be successful, students will need to both participate in meetings as a group and individually on their own time. To accomplish student company tasks and the student's own development goals, students will also have to complete assignments outside of meetings as well as maintain regular attendance and participation at weekly meetings. Such assignments may include research and brainstorming or executing company tasks such as selling, promoting the company product/service, or attending a small group meeting virtually.

3)    Respect and Professional Conduct is mandatory

JA seeks to create professional business experience for all program participants and mentors. This includes students showing appropriate respect to fellow students and volunteer mentors at all times. Communications that are offensive, derogatory, inappropriate, bullying, discriminatory, disrespectful, etc. will not be tolerated and are grounds for dismissal from JA Company Program. (These are examples only and are not intended to be a comprehensive list) Should you ever be uncomfortable with communication(s) received from another student or volunteer mentor, please speak to JA Staff immediately.

4)    Communication

JA Company Program After-School brings together motivated high school students and business professionals to help high school students launch a company and meet their development goals. With all these moving parts, good communication across all levels is essential to successful JA Company Programs.

Students must regularly check their provided email address to ensure they have the most up-to-date program information. Each JA Company Program student group will also establish communication methods such as group texts, Microsoft Teams groups, and regular video conferences to colloborate outside of meetings in order to meet company goals.
