    Audition Registration Window: August 17-September 8, 2026

    Auditions on Wednesday, 9/9: Instructions/Dates/Times
    Auditions will be held in the University Theatre, Shasta Hall 113, on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, by appointment.

    There will be a dance audition portion from 5pm-5:45pm. Audition slots for character roles are available between 6pm and 9pm. Anyone auditioning for a dance role must attend the dance call. All folks auditioning for a character role are highly encouraged to attend the dance call audition at 5pm.

    Please visit the Sacramento State Theatre and Dance website audition page to sign-up for a time slot via the online registration form AND upload a recent headshot, resume and complete the online audition information form.

    Callbacks: September 10, 5pm; Playwrights Theatre (SHS 101)
    Callbacks will consist of sides from the script that will be made available Thursday 9/10 morning to those who are called back. You do not need to memorize the sides but be familiar with them. Callbacks will also include physical movement, so dress comfortably.

    The Department of Theatre and Dance will be sending employees to rehearsals and performances to take visual/audio images for marketing and archival purposes. Please read the below paragraph from CSUS Image Release form and sign in the designated area. Thank you.

    Rehearsal Schedule:
    Mondays-Thursdays 5:30pm-9pm
    Sundays 2:30pm-4:30pm (dinner break) 5:30pm-8pm
    Rehearsals start as early as 9/13/2026.

    Tech Rehearsals:
    Mon-Thurs 10/19-10/22 5pm-10pm

    Dress Rehearsals:
    Mon-Wed 10/26-10/28 5pm-10pm

    Performances:
    10/29-10/30 5pm call, 7pm curtain
    10/31 DARK Happy Halloween
    11/1 12pm call, 2pm curtain

    11/5-11/7 5pm call, 7pm curtain
    *11/6 8am call, 10am curtain (high school outreach matinee)
    11/8 12pm call, 2pm curtain

    Strike:
    11/8 5:30pm-10pm

    Please note that any conflicts with the dress rehearsal and performance schedule will not be permitted and will affect casting choices. 



    Costume Fitting Expectations:
    All performers offered roles should expect to be called in for an initial measurement appointment (approx. 15 min long) in the weeks following being cast. All performers will be called in for 1-3 costume fittings (30-60 min long) as the show approaches. All measurement and fitting appointments are scheduled during regular Costume Shop hours (8am-5pm).
