Audition Requirements: Participation in Philharmonia, Sinfonia, and Huntsville Youth Symphony requires an audition. Audition requirements: https://hsvyo.org/auditions

Audition Dates:
All available audition slots during our August 1-3 audition days have been taken. We are currently scheduling make-up auditions on August 9-11 (we can schedule auditions for other dates/times if needed) for those who were unable to audition. If you would like to schedule a make up audition, please complete this form and email info@hsvyo.org directly.

Location: Sandra Moon Complex (7901 Bailey Cove Rd) - when arriving, use the parking lot and entrance on the south side of the building opposite of the library.

Audition Fee: A $15 audition fee is required for each student ($10 per student for families with multiple children auditioning - use the code HYOSibling at checkout). Audition fees are collected at the end of this form via PayPal.

Auditions on Multiple Instruments: Students auditioning on more than one instrument must complete an Audition Sign-Up (form, audition time, and payment) for each instrument. The sibling discount may be used by students auditioning on multiple instruments.

Audition Policies:
- Students may not re-audition under any circumstances, so please come fully prepared. Audition results determine both orchestra placement and chair placement for the entire season.
- All auditions are blind, with the exception of percussion and make-up auditions
- Audition Fees are non-refundable

Audition Information
Returning Students

Returning students wishing to move up an ensemble must prepare the audition requirements of the ensemble they last placed in and the ensemble they are wishing to move up to. If students wish to remain in the same ensemble as last season, they only need to prepare the audition requirements of that ensemble for seating purposes. Students may not skip an ensemble level with out approval from the Music Director.

New Students

New students generally need to prepare auditions for two ensembles, the one they wish to audition into and the ensemble below it (except for students joining Philharmonia or winds/brass/percussion joining Sinfonia).

Audition Fee Payment

All students auditioning are required to pay the audition fee. Families with multiple children or students auditioning on multiple instruments may use the code HYOSibling to receive $5 off the audition fee.
