ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
To be eligible to exhibit at Alchemy, you must meet the following criteria:
- Currently living and working in the UK;
- Be able to represent yourself and sell your own work. You may not act as an agent for others.
A range of work, materials and styles are welcomed, but all work sold at Alchemy must:
- Be made of precious metal, although other materials can be included*;
- Be compliant with the Hallmarking Act of 1973 and all relevant legislation;
- Be handmade or made through small-scale batch production;
- Be compliant with the current restrictions regarding CITES and materials that require licenses or are prohibited.
*Each piece must include an element of precious metal (such as chains or findings), but we welcome a range of materials alongside this.
There is no fee to apply to Alchemy.
SELECTION PROCESS
Up to 50 makers will be selected for Alchemy. Exhibitors will be chosen by a selection panel, including representatives from Alchemy: Goldsmiths Edinburgh CIC.
The panel will look for:
- Excellence in design and manufacture
- Quality of craftsmanship
- Cohesion in the collection of work presented
- Originality of design
The panel will consider a range of styles and prices across the final selection of exhibitors.
You will be informed of outcomes by Monday, 9 November 2026.
Please note that we will not accept applications for joint or shared stands.
If your application to exhibit at Alchemy is successful, you will be sent a contract providing further details about the event. We will also provide you with a template for information to be used to the catalogue and website. All fees include the cost of cabinet hire.
STAND FEES
The cost to exhibit and sell at Alchemy is £1,100.
EARLY CAREER STANDS
We are pleased to offer up to 4 reduced price stands for early career makers. These will be awarded at the discretion of the selection panel based on the below eligibility criteria:
- Makers applying for these stands must have been operating in busienss for five years or less.
The cost of exhibiting is £500.
BURSARY STANDS
We are pleased to offer up to 4 bursary stands for early career makers. The selected makers will received a fully-supported stand at Alchemy, and will also receive a £400 bursary to spend on precious metals in preparation for the event.
These stands include:
- The Argex Silversmith Bursary Stand
- The Curious Gem Jeweller Bursary Stand
More sponsors to be announced.
These will be awarded at the discretion of the selection panel based on the below eligibility criteria:
- Makers applying for these stands must have been operating in business for five years or less.
- The panel will look for originality in design, excellence in craftsmanship and cohesion in the collection presented.
PAYMENT
If your application to exhibit at Alchemy is successful, you will be invoiced for your stand fees as detailed below. A late fee of 5% will incur if payment is not made by the dates specified.
First Payment: £550 to be paid by Tuesday, 24 November 2026.
Second Payment: £550 to be paid by Tuesday, 26 January 2027.
For Early Career Stand recipients, payment is to be made by the dates specified below:
First Payment: £250 to be paid by Tuesday, 24 November 2026.
Second Payment: £250 to be paid by Tuesday, 26 January 2027.
CANCELLATION
Once payment has been made, the Stand Fee (either the first or second installment, or both) is non-refundable.
If for any reason you are unable to attend Elements and wish to cancel your palce, please inform us as soon as possible so your space can be re-allocated.
