Volunteer-in-Training (VIT) Award Form

Fill out this form to earn your VIT Award as a registered Girl Scout Senior or Ambassador!
Requirements:
1. Be a registered Girl Scout Senior or Ambassador
2. Find a mentor or volunteer who is currently the adult volunteer for a group of Girl Scouts at the level you'd like to work with.
3. Use the VIT Girl Guide as you work towards earning this award
4. Observe 2 meetings led by your mentor or volunteer, observe their leadership and overall group dynamics (ex. Troop meeting, highest awards meetings, leadership award meeting, badge workshop, journey, etc.)
5. Plan and lead 2 different activities for a group of younger Girl Scouts (Either earning a badge, journey or unique program of your choosing)
Girl Scouts in the 9th - 12th grade can earn this award by mentoring a Girl Scout Daisy, Brownie, Junior, or Cadette group outside of the summer camp experience. After submitting this form you will receive approval in 5 or less business days from the Highest Award Manager. Approval allows you to purchase the VIT pin from the shop. Observe and Plan!

Observe and learn how a leader inspires others and find techniques that work for you. Then plan and lead activities of your own! Your task as a leader is to think about not only what the group will be doing but also how you’ll be leading them, incorporating the three core processes of the Girl Scout Leadership Experience. Think about activities you love, such as art projects, science experiments, or community service. It’s always more fun to teach something you’re passionate about!
