Our 2026 art exhibit, AddamsFest Americana, invites artists to celebrate America250 by exploring the American experience through an Addams-inspired perspective. Whether subtly eerie, humorous, or nostalgic, we invite artists to reveal the delightfully unexpected side of America's everyday places, traditions, and landscapes.
We're seeking original interpretations of this year's theme that reflect your unique artistic voice while embracing the wit, imagination, and offbeat spirit that defines AddamsFest. We are not looking for submissions that replicate Charles Addams' artistic style. Instead, we encourage artists to use their distinct vision to portray American life with curiosity, humor, and an unconventional perspective.
Show us an Americana that is both familiar and fantastically strange—where history, home, and imagination meet.
Required Elements
- A sketch of your concept
- A brief paragraph (4–6 sentences) describing your vision, inspiration, and intended style
Design Considerations
- Two-dimentional artwork only
- All chosen pieces must be completed in gallery-ready form by the artist (either framed or with attached wall hooks)
Important Dates
- Submission Deadline: August 21, 2026
- Artist Notification: September 4, 2026
- Final Artwork Due: September 25, 2026
Artist Benefits
- $100 stipend for each selected artist
- Selected works will be displayed alongside original Charles Addams art in the Rialto Center for Creativity (Westfield, NJ) for three weeks in October as part of AddamsFest.
