The Celina Police Department is proud to offer a Bicycle Safety Course in partnership with Celina ISD. This program is designed to educate students on bicycle laws, safe riding practices, and hazard awareness. While safety is our top priority, participation requires the understanding and acceptance of certain conditions outlined below.
- Safety Acknowledgement
I understand that the Celina Police Department will make every reasonable effort to ensure the safety of all participants. Trained officers and staff will supervise the course, and safety procedures will be reviewed before and during all activities. I acknowledge and agree that:
- My child must wear an appropriate helmet and closed-toe shoes during all riding activities.
- My child must follow all instructions given by instructors and staff.
- I will ensure that my child’s bicycle is in good working condition prior to participation.
- Personal Responsibility
I acknowledge that:
- My child’s participation is voluntary.
- It is my responsibility to inform instructors of any medical or physical conditions that may affect m child’s ability to safely participate.
- My child is expected to act responsibly, respectfully, and in accordance with the rules of the course and Celina ISD’s Code of Conduct.
- Liability Waiver
I, the undersigned parent or legal guardian of the student named above, hereby agree to the following:
- I understand and accept the inherent risks associated with bicycle riding, including but not limited to falls, collisions, or mechanical failure.
- I release and hold harmless the Celina Police Department, the City of Celina, Celina Independent School District, their officers, employees, agents, and volunteers from any and all claims, liabilities, losses, damages, or expenses arising from or related to my child’s participation in this program.
- I understand that this release applies to any injury, damage, or loss occurring before, during, or after participation in the bicycle safety course.
