Camp Lifeguard Position Description
Thank you for your interest in serving as a lifeguard at SMYM Youth Camp! Our Lifeguards play a vital role in creating a safe, enjoyable, and life-changing environment for every student, leader, and volunteer. Lifeguards are responsible for actively supervising all waterfront and swimming activities, enforcing camp safety rules, responding to emergencies, performing water rescues when necessary, and promoting the overall safety and well-being of campers and volunteers. This position requires individuals who hold a current, active lifeguard certification and any additional certifications required to fulfill the responsibilities of the role. Lifeguards should be able to work well as part of a team, remain alert and attentive, exercise sound judgment in emergency situations, and demonstrate Christ-like character while serving others. Please note that serving as a lifeguard may involve standing for extended periods, spending long hours outdoors in varying weather conditions, swimming, performing physical rescues, and responding quickly to emergencies. By completing this application, you are indicating your interest in serving as an SMYM Lifeguard. Submission of this form does not guarantee placement, and all applicants are subject to review and approval by SMYM leadership.
