The Ike Williams Award for Civic Leadership is given to a grassroots leader that has demonstrated success mobilizing and organizing at the neighborhood/community level in the areas of civil justice, civil rights and economic justice.
Nomination requirements:
- The nominee has to be making a difference in the community they serve
- The nominee must have no less than 3 years working within the community they serve
- The nominee must demonstrate leadership in mobilizing/organizing the community they serve
- The nominee must demonstrate success at local level around civil justice/civil rights/economic justice
- The nominating organization must be a current member of the South Carolina Association for Community Economic Development (SCACED)
