Empowering Choices: A Study on Sexual Health & Self-Efficacy Among Young Women

  • Sexual Self-Efficacy (SSE) refers to your confidence to negotiate safe sex, set firm boundaries, and direct your own sexual health (Rosenthal et al., 1991). Yet, cultivating this confidence can be challenging when traditional expectations often pressure young Filipinas to remain passive (Vibal et al., 2024). You are invited to participate in a research study focusing on evaluating sexual health practices and sexual self-efficacy among young adult women.

This study explores how you navigate these cultural barriers. Your participation will help us understand how young women overcome these pressures to turn basic health knowledge into empowered, promotive, and protective actions.

“Your experience can help shape the future of women's health.”

  • Thank You for Your Contribution!

  • Thank you for participating in our study. Your contribution is invaluable to our understanding of sexual health and self-efficacy among young Filipina women.

To ensure our research remained unbiased, we previously mentioned that this study explores the psychological dimensions of sexual health. Now that you have completed the questionnaire, we would like to provide more detail: this research specifically examines how clinical health history—including the presence of STIs—interacts with cultural norms to influence sexual self-efficacy.

Your responses allow us to bridge the gap between basic health knowledge and the empowered, promotive, and protective actions that young women take daily.
