• FC Strathmore Split Official Petition to Moonee Valley City Council

Official Community Petition - Protect Our Players - Remove Dangerous Concrete Cricket Pitches from Multi-Use Football Grounds Across Moonee Valley
  • Thank you for supporting this important community campaign.

FC Strathmore Split is calling on Moonee Valley City Council to improve player safety by removing permanent concrete cricket pitches from multi-use football grounds and replacing them with safer alternatives.

Our home ground, Strathnaver Reserve, is one of several shared facilities where football is played over a permanent concrete cricket pitch concealed beneath synthetic turf.

Recent events have highlighted the importance of reviewing these playing surfaces before another serious injury occurs.

This petition will be formally presented to Moonee Valley City Council.

  • Petition Statement

We, the undersigned, respectfully petition Moonee Valley City Council to:

    • Conduct an immediate safety audit of all multi-use sporting grounds within the municipality containing permanent concrete cricket pitches.
    • Develop a staged program to remove or replace permanent concrete cricket pitches on football grounds with safer alternatives.
    • Consult with sporting clubs, governing bodies and the community regarding safer shared sporting facilities.
    • Prioritise player safety when planning and upgrading community sporting infrastructure.
  • Format: (000) 000-0000.
  • Thank You!
Thank you for helping make community sport safer.
