Troop Camping Pre-Approval Form

This is not a reservation form.

Please complete your reservation before completing this form. The link to the Doubleknot reservations for Camp Meriwether and Camp Timber Ridge are on the Troop Camping page of our website. 

This form is required to be completed by each troop camping at one of our campsites no later than 30 days before their camping date. If participants change prior to the trip, edit your submission with the new participants listed.

Troop leaders must have completed health forms for all participants when camping.

Please make sure to have completed trainings, memberships, and background checks BEFORE filling out this form.

All camp attendees must be registered Girl Scout members. This applies to youth and adults.

Please make sure to e-mail camp@gsgatl.org for approval if edits are submitted after two weeks prior to your camping date so that we can ensure everyone has time to be approved. Adults and Girl Scouts not listed on your Troop Camping Pre-Approval form or with missing requirements will not be allowed on camp property.

Adult Requirements

• All adults must have a current Girl Scout membership.
• All adults must have a current, successful background check on file.

Troop Requirements

• Each troop must have a minimum of two, non-related female adults at all times.
• Each troop must have an adult who is certified in First Aid/CPR and an adult who has completed the Troop Outdoor Certificate Learning Path in gsLearn.
  • This can be the same adult, however, we do recommend having multiple adults fulfill these roles in case of an emergency.
     
• If you are camping in platform tents, pitched tents, or hammock camping, the appropriate additional training is required.

Safety Activity Checkpoints - Supervision Ratio

• Each troop must have the appropriate number of adults to maintain the supervision ratio. 

As a non-profit organization who regularly submits applications for grants, collecting race/ethnicity data for participants allows us to provide statistics about the Girl Scouts we serve to organizations who have specific support goals. Providing this information is always optional. 

• My signature below indicates that all the information provided is correct to the best of my knowledge. I also acknowledge that intentional failure to follow published guidelines and procedures found in the most current version of Volunteer Essentials  and the Safety Activity Checkpoints could result in a reduction of available Girl Scout provided insurance and may result in personal liability to myself. 
• I agree that I will not allow any adults who have not been verified through the above process to participate with my troop and that all girls attending with the troop are currently registered members.
•  All Volunteers and guests should model their behavior that shows respect for other Girl Scouts on camp and local and state laws and ordinances. All Girl Scouts must abide by the Girl Scout Promise and Law.
• All GSGATL camps are a smoke free and tobacco free environment. Alcohol and Substance Abuse is prohibited at all times on camp property. (See GSGATL Volunteer Policies and Procedures sections 18 and 19).
• I acknowledge that all Volunteers and guests attending under my reservation will adhere to these policies.
