What are conference proceedings?
Conference proceedings are a “published” (or more accurately a publicly accessible) record of a conference, symposium, or meeting held by a sponsored organization (Penn State, 2024). More formally, this is a collection of articles written by attendees about sessions they led or research talks/posters they gave during the conference. This collection allows our attendees the opportunity to gain experience writing scientific papers without the pressure of a comprehensive peer review. Proceedings papers can be incorporated into attendees' resumes, which helps make them more competitive in the job market.
The oSTEM 2026 Proceedings are an opt-in option for 2026 conference attendees who themselves presented a program, research talk, or poster during the conference, where articles are written by said attendees, and not by oSTEM volunteers. These articles will submitted for double-blind review by an oSTEM editorial committee to fix any errors before they are made publicly available on our website.
