The Olympia Tumwater Foundation (OTF), in its efforts to increase and enhance education programs in Thurston County, is dedicated to providing educators with funds to implement and administer learning opportunities that go beyond the basic available funding of their programs. Deadline to apply is October 19th, 2026 and winners will be notified the first week of November.
The OTF goals for this grant program include:
- Supporting Innovative Programs.
- Stimulating student creativity and motivation to learn.
- Enhancing the current learning environment.
- Leaving a lasting impact on as many students as possible.
Grants are offered to school districts, early childhood education programs, and K-3 curriculums located in Thurston County. Acceptable programs will assist children anywhere from birth through third grade. Individual grants vary in size from around $300 to $2,500.00. Funds must be used specifically for this grant request. Any purchased equipment will belong to the school or organization.
Exclusions include:
- Teacher or staff training
- Food
- Unidentified budget entries
- Student transportation
- Annual subscription programs
OTF has granted over $209,000 in early learning grants to deserving Thurston County educators.
