Our Story
On December 19, 2016, Tracy Stark and her husband found her sons, Ryder (13) and Radek (11) murdered by their biological father at his home in Spruce Grove, AB. The boys had moved there just three months earlier to play hockey at a higher level. In the minutes, days and months following their deaths, Tracy couldn't imagine how her life could move forward without them, but she did remember lying in their beds that fateful night, making them a promise to keep their legacies alive and let the world know their names.
The foundation's genesis is rooted in the tragic loss of two beloved sons. Ryder and Radek may no longer be physically present, but their spirit lives on through the mission of the R&R Empowering Society of Alberta. Driven by the memory of these young lives, the foundation is a testament to the power of turning pain into purpose. Though cut short, their lives continue to shine through the opportunities the foundation provides to the young souls they never had the chance to meet.
The R&R Empowering Society of Alberta is committed to breaking down barriers that hinder underprivileged children from realizing their potential. By offering financial support, scholarships, and resources, the foundation opens doors to a world of growth, learning, and self-discovery that extends beyond classrooms and fields. While sports are a cornerstone of the foundation's mission, it extends its reach to encompass various extracurricular and life-enhancing activities.
With each person whose life is touched, each dream that is nurtured, the R&R Empowering Society of Alberta ensures that the light of Ryder and Radek shines brightly, illuminating the path to a brighter future for Alberta's underprivileged youth.
