Call for Artists: Take Back the Night Poster Contest

Embrave, the Peel Committee Against Woman Abuse (PCAWA), and Visual Arts Mississauga (VAM) are proud to launch the 2026 Take Back the Night Poster Contest. Artists are invited to create an original poster that captures the spirit of Take Back the Night—a movement that brings communities together to stand against gender-based violence, support survivors, and promote safety, dignity, and equality for all.
Submission & Contest Guidelines:

1.) Posters may be created using traditional or digital media in typical sizes (letter, legal, tabloid, etc.).

2.) Artists must select one category to enter. The contest includes three categories:
- Teen Artists (11–17 yrs)
- Emerging Artists (18–30 yrs)
- Established Artists (31+ yrs)
3.) Artwork must be original and unpublished.

4.) Artwork should reflect the values and mission of Take Back the Night.

5.) Artists retain ownership of their work while permitting organizers to print and display winning entries for promotional and event purposes.

6.) One winner will be selected from each category. Each first-place winner will receive: A $100 Gift Card from Embrave, plus a $100 Gift Card from Visual Arts Mississauga.

7.) Winning artworks will be printed and showcased during the Take Back the Night event on September 17, 2026, and featured in promotional materials (print and online).

Submission Deadline: AUGUST 5, 2026 at midnight. Winners will be notified by email on August 20th, 2026
