APAP Honors Award Nomination Form
The APAP Honors celebrates and recognizes trailblazers and visionaries of the performing arts field. For more than five decades, the coveted awards have been presented annually as part of the APAP Awards Ceremony traditionally held at the annual APAP|NYC conference.

We will celebrate the APAP Honorees on Monday, January 18th, 2027 from 10:45 - 11:30 a.m. at the Applauding Excellence: 2027 APAP Honors Toast & Reception. APAP Award Honorees will also be celebrated and highlighted throughout the conference (announcement boards, social media, etc.)

APAP members are invited to nominate artists, agents, managers, presenters, producers, organizations, supporters, and other arts professionals whose hard work, dedication, and vision have contributed to the strength, impact, and resilience of the performing arts industry. As we work to sustain our field and look to the future, honoring the accomplishments of these field leaders is more important than ever.

To nominate an individual or organization for any of the six APAP Awards:
- You must be an active member of APAP, but the nominee is not required to be an APAP member. If self-nominating, you must be an active member of APAP.
- You may only nominate the same individual/organization for a maximum of two awards. Please submit each nomination separately.
- Self-nominations will be considered only if they are submitted with at least one (1) letter of support from an outside entity/individual (who is also an APAP member).
Submit Nominations by Friday, September 11, 2026 at 5:00 p.m. (EDT).

The Award of Merit honors an individual, group, or ensemble whose genius, energy, and excellence have defined or redefined an art form for today's audiences.
The Fan Taylor Distinguished Service Award honors an individual whose outstanding service to APAP and leadership in the arts has had a significant impact on the field of professional presenting.
The William Dawson Award for Programmatic Excellence honors an individual or organization for the quality, innovation, and vision of program design, audience building and community involvement efforts.
The Sidney R. Yates Advocacy Award honors an individual or an organization for a particular advocacy effort or for a sustained advocacy campaign at the national, state, or local level that has had significant impact on the performing arts.
The Arts Champion Award honors an individual, family, or foundation that demonstrates outstanding commitment to APAP, and through its generous philanthropy and leadership, they inspire others to support the performing arts.
The Spark of Change Award honors an emergent individual or group (under the age of 40/under 15 years of professional experience) who demonstrates trail-blazing innovation and vision in the presenting, booking, and touring field.

Spark of Change Award - to recognize a professional or group taking an inventive, ground-breaking, and revolutionary approach in their work, addressing a field-wide challenge with promising impact, or championing an underrepresented yet critical perspective to sustain the presenting, booking, and touring industry. The individual or group is under the age of 40 and has worked in the field for at least four years, but less than 15.

The nominee exemplifies excellence in one (or many) of the following areas: arts and health infrastructure, a more accessible and vibrant community health and wellness landscape, powered by the arts; arts and tech infrastructure, Human-centered innovation, supercharged by the transformative, creative power of the arts; arts and civic trust infrastructure, Rebuilding and fostering civic trust through the performing arts as community-rooted civic hubs.
