Event Water Safety Officer
Purpose: Responsible for managing all aspects of the Water Safety Services provided to event organisers, to ensure a safe and successful outcome.

The Event Water Safety Officer shall:
• Be a financial member of the Club and uphold the Club's Constitution, By-Laws, Policies and Procedures, acting at all times in the best interests of Coogee Beach Surf Life Saving Club.
• Maintain a sound working knowledge of the Club's Constitution, By-Laws, Policies, Procedures and relevant Surf Life Saving WA and Surf Life Saving Australia regulations applicable to the role.
• Conduct yourself professionally and with integrity, demonstrating the Club's values of Diversity, Fun, Inclusion, Integrity and Respect while positively representing the Club, its members and the broader community.
• Communicate openly, respectfully and collaboratively, actively promoting the Club's "One Club, One Family" philosophy and fostering positive relationships across all areas of the Club.
• Maintain confidentiality where required, exercise sound judgement, and act in a manner that protects and enhances the reputation of the Club.
• Provide quotes for the services to the event organisers and obtain acceptance/ confirmation to proceed.
• For each event, issue a Contract for Services and obtain the organiser’s details, Certificate of Currency and applicable Event Waiver forms.
• Complete the Club Special Event Assessment Form (CSEAF) and issue to the Club President for endorsement. Provide a copy to the SLSA Insurance Broker if required.
• Plan the water safety services by:
o Calling for volunteers on social media – if required or if event has not been rostered.
o Drafting the Water Safety plan and reviewing it with the organiser.
o Notifying the Powercraft and First Aid officers to ensure equipment is available.
o Notifying SLSWA and affiliated clubs of the event.
• Draft a post event report and issue to the organiser with the invoice for the services rendered.
• Maintain all correspondence and documents in the appropriate electronic files and registers.
Beach Services
Patrol Coordinator
Purpose: Support Beach Services Director in managing and overseeing the Lifesaving capabilities of Club and assist in monitoring qualifications, attendance and performance of patrolling members.

The Patrol Coordinator shall:
• Be a financial member of the Club and uphold the Club's Constitution, By-Laws, Policies and Procedures, acting at all times in the best interests of Coogee Beach Surf Life Saving Club.
• Maintain a sound working knowledge of the Club's Constitution, By-Laws, Policies, Procedures and relevant Surf Life Saving WA and Surf Life Saving Australia regulations applicable to the role.

o Preparing annual Lifesaving agreement on behalf of the Club.
o Ensures that the Club meets the standards and Lifesaving requirements of SLSWA at all times.
• Chairs Lifesaving & Trainings Committee Meetings.
• Assist in developing the annual Patrol Rosters.
• Assist in maintaining the Patrol Logbooks.
• Manage all incidents and hazards associated with the beach.
• Assist in communicating with Patrol Captains to maintain the efficiency of Patrols.

IRB Officer
Purpose: Responsible for maintenance of IRB equipment and coordination of gear required for patrol & water safety.

The IRB Officer shall:

Purpose: Support the Patrol Coordinator by coordinating the Port Coogee Patrols. Reports To: Patrol Coordinator

The Port Coogee Officer shall:
• Be a financial member of the Club and uphold the Club's Constitution, By-Laws, Policies and Procedures, acting at all times in the best interests of Coogee Beach Surf Life Saving Club.
• Maintain a sound working knowledge of the Club's Constitution, By-Laws, Policies, Procedures and relevant Surf Life Saving WA and Surf Life Saving Australia regulations applicable to the role.
• Conduct yourself professionally and with integrity, demonstrating the Club's values of Diversity, Fun, Inclusion, Integrity and Respect while positively representing the Club, its members and the broader community.
• Communicate openly, respectfully and collaboratively, actively promoting the Club's "One Club, One Family" philosophy and fostering positive relationships across all areas of the Club.
• Maintain confidentiality where required, exercise sound judgement, and act in a manner that protects and enhances the reputation of the Club.
o Liaising with the respective Patrol Captain, during the week prior to the rostered patrol, to get the members’ names that will be attending; and
o Communicating with these members, two days before the rostered patrol, informing them of the Standard Operating Procedure and providing them the code of the door lock to the storage room at Ngarkal Beach.
• Ensure all equipment is available, maintained and in good order during the patrol season.
o Notify the Patrol Coordinator of any operational issues or if first aid stocks are low.
• Ensure patrol logs are printed and available for sign in.
• Collect old patrol logs on a regular basis and return them to the Patrol Logs file at the club.
• Collect and return all valuable equipment to the club at the end of the patrol season.Beach Services
Patrol Captain
Purpose: Responsible for the functioning and safety of all the members of their patrol and the general public.

The Patrol Captain shall:
• Be a financial member of the Club and uphold the Club's Constitution, By-Laws, Policies and Procedures, acting at all times in the best interests of Coogee Beach Surf Life Saving Club.
• Maintain a sound working knowledge of the Club's Constitution, By-Laws, Policies, Procedures and relevant Surf Life Saving WA and Surf Life Saving Australia regulations applicable to the role.
• Conduct yourself professionally and with integrity, demonstrating the Club's values of Diversity, Fun, Inclusion, Integrity and Respect while positively representing the Club, its members and the broader community.
• Communicate openly, respectfully and collaboratively, actively promoting the Club's "One Club, One Family" philosophy and fostering positive relationships across all areas of the Club.
• Maintain confidentiality where required, exercise sound judgement, and act in a manner that protects and enhances the reputation of the Club.
• Ensure that identified high risk areas along their beach are appropriately managed in a proactive capacity.
• Ensure all Lifesaving equipment is checked for functionality and safety before duty.
• In the event of an incident, command available resources and update SurfCom. Co-ordinate any search and rescue situation that may occur.
Take immediate steps to report any serious breach of Surf Life Saving policies and/or patrol deficiencies.
• Liaise with the previous Patrol Captain/Lifeguard to identify any issues or hazards present.
• Assess beach conditions/risk levels and select the safest area of beach to determine the flagged location. Dependent on conditions, the Patrol Captain shall be responsible for the opening and closing of flagged areas and/or beaches.
• Allocate responsibilities to patrol members and ensure that all patrol members take a pro-active approach to lifesaving.

Patrol Vice Captain
Purpose: Responsible for assisting Patrol Captain in the functioning and safety of all the members of their patrol and the general public.

The Patrol Vice Captain shall:

• When Patrol Captain in attendance, Vice-Captain will assist the Captain in all the following areas
o Operate and manage the lifesaving capability and response as per the Patrol Captains Guide.
o Ensuring that identified high risk areas along their beach are appropriately managed in a proactive capacity.
o In the event of an incident, provide Captain assistance in commanding available resources and update SurfCom. Co-ordinate any search and rescue situation that may occur.
o To take immediate steps to report any serious breach of Surf Life Saving policies and/or patrol deficiencies.
o Liaise with the previous Patrol Captain/Lifeguard to identify any issues or hazards present.

• Monitor adherence to cleaning and hygiene requirements of First Aid Room.
• Monitor equipment quality and expiry details of supplies (i.e. AED Pads)

• Provide regular communication to Patrol Captain’s.
• Promote and support first aid training in consultation with Training Coordinator.

Purpose: Plan, advertise and deliver the courses and requalification opportunities required by members to provide the club with the necessary skills and awards for the club to effectively carry out lifesaving operations as required by the community.

The Training Coordinator shall:

• Coordinates and supports assessment and requalification processes in accordance with SLSA requirements.
• Coordinates and resources inter club and external assessment requirements with neighboring clubs.
• Supports mentoring, training and development of trainee trainers and assessors at CBSLSC.
• Provides input into the expansion and modification of the administration of training and education at CBSLSC.
• Monitors training methods, materials and delivery to ensure a consistent high quality of member education.

• Maintain accurate training records in accordance with SLSWA requirements.
• Partake in Trainer/Assessor Auditing activities as directed by SLSWA.

Peer Support Officer
Purpose: Responsible for supporting the mental health and wellbeing of members and staff by providing support, referrals and well checks following critical incidents or as required.

The Peer Support Officer shall:

• Maintain a sound working knowledge of the Club's Constitution, By-Laws, Policies, Procedures and relevant Surf Life Saving WA and Surf Life Saving Australia regulations applicable to the role.
• Conduct yourself professionally and with integrity, demonstrating the Club's values of Diversity, Fun, Inclusion, Integrity and Respect while positively representing the Club, its members and the broader community.

• Helps members identify when they may need professional treatment.
• Make follow-up calls to members 7 and 14 days after an incident.
