    Martial arts training (MMA, BJJ, Muay Thai, Wrestling) involves high intensity cardiovascular and physical stress.

  • Has a doctor ever said you have had a heart condition or high blood pressure?*
  • Do you feel pain in your chest when you perform physical activity?*
  • Do you lose your balance due to dizziness or ever lose consciousness?*
  • Do you have a bone, joint or spinal injury that could be made worse by contact sport?*

  • Section 2: Exemption of risk and liability waiver

  • Mixed martial arts, Brazilian jiu jitsu, Muay Thai and Wrestling are high contact combat sports involving inherent risk of serious injury, including but not limited to concussions, broken bones, soft tissue damage, and skin infections and the temporary restriction of air or blood flow due to submissions.

     

  • Voluntary participation: I voluntarily choose to accept and fully assume all inherent risks associated with my participation in live sparring, drilling, throwing, takedowns and joint locks.

  • Release of liability: I acknowledge that Ludi MMA and its coaches are not liable for injuries resulting from the normal, inherent risks of combat sports. Nothing in this document attempts to exclude or limit Ludi MMA's liability for death or personal injury caused directly by its proven legal negligence.

  • Sparring safety: I agree to follow all safety instructions provided by coaches and to wear mandatory safety gear, e.g. gum shields, groin guards, shin guards, and gloves during live sparring sessions. I agree to follow the "tap early, tap often" safety rule to prevent joint injury.

  • Section 3: Mat hygiene and club code of conduct

  • To ensure a safe, inclusive and clean training environment, all members must strictly adhere to our operational codes.

  • Mat Cleanliness: I will never step onto the mats wearing shoes or outdoor footwear. However, I will always wear footwear, flip flop/shoes when leaving the mat area to use the toilets.

  • Personal hygiene: My training kit, rash guards and shorts will be freshly washed before every session. My fingernails and toenails will be trimmed short to prevent scratching training partners.

  • Ego and safety: Safe, controlled drilling takes priority over winning. Intentionally executing malicious or illegal strikes or submissions and refusing to release a submission when a partner taps will result in immediate termination of membership.

  • Section 4: 24/7 CCTV surveillance and GDPR consent

  • In compliance with the UK data protection law and ICO regulations, Ludi MMA utilizes digital video surveillance.

  • Purpose and locations: CCTV cameras operate 24/7 across the whole gym on all mat spaces and exit thresholds to protect property, ensure athlete safety and deter crime. No cameras are placed inside changing spaces or toilets.

  • Data rights: Footage is securely encrypted and held for a maximum of thirty days before automatic deletion. Under GDPR I retain the right to submit a subject access request (SAR) to review recorded footage featuring my likeness providing it does not compromise the privacy of other members.
