Because this species remains relatively uncommon in North America, collecting this information will help us estimate the number of animals and breeding programs currently in existence. The survey will also help connect ethical breeders with unrelated bloodlines, promoting genetic diversity, responsible breeding practices, and the long-term health of the species.
